FAQ's
We help clarify the bigger goal that you might have 3, 5 or 10 years out.
We help you develop all the strategies, tools and systems that you're going to need to achieve that goal.
Our role is to work with you regularly and keep you accountable to doing those things along the way so you do achieve that grander goal that you are looking for.
As business coaches, we look much more forward. We're looking at marketing, sales, team, productivity, all the things to grow and improve the business. Accountants usually are much more retrospective.
We only meet with them once every quarter or year looking at the numbers only, and focus more around compliance, making sure your BASs are submitted and the taxes are paid, and how well financially the business did historically.
That depends on your definition of need. We talk about the faster, easier, more effective.
So if you've got a grander goal that you'd like to get to, like pay off a house or buy a factory or whatever it is, you will get there far easier, quicker and more effective with a business coach than you would on your own. And the reality is, that's worth money to achieve that.

ActionCoach has been around 35 odd years, so we absolutely know it works. A business wouldn't have existed otherwise!
On a business to business basis, when we're actually coaching people, we know how well they're doing because we're measuring with financials and achievements along the way. And that in itself proves that we're doing well.
The only caveat to that is that you have to work on the business as well because nothing works unless you're part of this bigger plan.
Most of them are plumbers, electricians, builders, joiners, concreters, and the like, but the reality is I can work with all trades-related businesses.
Understanding numbers helps you grow a business, but it's not essential to be an accountant or that level to get benefit from coaching. I've actually worked with people who do not use a computer and we have achieved an enormous amount of progress.

That's our proven success formula. So we've got a whole range of things we can work on, but we have some proven frameworks and tools that are guaranteed to work and have been proven and tested for like 30 years.
These cover things like pricing, productivity, purchasing, average dollar sale, repeat customers, conversion rates on quotes and jobs, and marketing, and many other things.
The real skill is knowing which is the most important and which will give you the quickest wins and when to introduce them and how to implement them.
Absolutely can!
Our definition of a good business is a commercial, profitable enterprise that works without you. So embedded in that, we're going to help you identify what job roles or what roles you're doing now and who you can delegate it to or find out who is the person we need to employ to take on those roles, as well as make the business profitable enough to be able to afford to do so.

It actually depends on the style of business you have in terms of your sales cycle.
Builders might have a very long sales cycle, where a plumber that does maintenance work has a very short sales cycle. But in both cases, we usually see results quite quickly, like within a few months.
In fact, we actually have a guarantee that we cover our fees in four months or we keep working for free.
It is highly varied, I've had businesses start from a startup to equivalent of $1,000,000 a year of turnover within six months.
The range is quite wide. In a lot of cases, a common number that comes up regularly is businesses grow their sales by 50% in 12 months. Another statistic is they often grow their Net wealth by 18 to 20% per year.
The answer is absolutely yes!
We've got a proven six-step formula framework that is guaranteed from start-up to get the foundations right, to build the business right up to a level where you've got synergy you can step away from the business.
Business coaching starts at $1,500 a month up to $3,000 a month for one-on-one business coaching. This varying amount is for different size of business because they have different levels of complexity in them.
In every case we go out of our way before we even engage and start working to make sure that there will be a return on investment and there's enough opportunity to make it worthwhile for both of us to continue.
It absolutely is, because there's an opportunity cost of your time. If you've got a big goal and you can reach that goal faster and easier and more effectively with working with a coach, that can be worth quite a lot of money to you.
That's what we work out right at the start as we are beginning our coaching journey, whether there's enough opportunity and whether there's a return on investment for you and whether it's going to get you to achieve your goals faster and easier as you would expect.
The answer is yes!
Most people choose to pay month by month. We do that via direct debit, although some people choose to pay a full year in advance and they get a discount for doing so. We also take cash if that works better for them too.
For us, there's actually no lock in other than 30 days notice in writing. Although our aim is to work with you for 2, 3, 4, 5 years to achieve your bigger, grander goals. The reality is that doesn't happen in just a few months.
But in case you might be wanting to sell your business or there's a significant health issue, you're not locked in for any long period of time.
We actually don't have a contract.
We have what we call an agreement, which more or less outlines how we're going to work together and what the costs and things are for you. And there is no tie-in other than 30 days notice in writing. So you could not regard it as a contract and onerous obligations for a long period of time.
In a coaching session, we review the progress on the past tasks that have been set, and we review what stage they're at and how effective and how good it is, and then we review what we need to do going forward and discuss the learning and teachings required to take the next steps.
It varies a little bit on the business, but for most tradie businesses I work with, we meet every fortnight for about an hour each time.
In my practice, about two thirds of the people that live fairly close choose to come into my office and I'm absolutely okay with that. The rest that are a bit further afield choose to do it via Zoom.
However, with the businesses that are further away, I usually go and meet with them a couple of times a year to see their workshop and staff and understand how their business is really going.
We have a fairly structured process and make sure that when you come to the first meeting that you're fully prepared and so am I.
This includes doing a questionnaire that uncovers every aspect of your business, everything from finances and marketing team and what your biggest issues really are. And you'll also have a chance to understand about other people we've worked with and understand more about the Greater ActionCoach.
Before every meeting we have a focus sheet that we ask you to send to us 24 hours before each meeting and this helps you keep focused on your goals and the tasks and what stage you are at, and I will understand that before you even come in.
We also have a what's called a Wealth Tracker that understands your net wealth that gets updated every six months. We also have a planning day that's a great way to help set goals for the next quarter, and we do that four times a year.
If you are flat out on the tools and not sure if you've got time for coaching, that is not what I see as a big issue because our core role is to work out how to find more time in your day to help you do the most important things.
And that includes delegating smaller tasks or putting better systems in place and making you more efficient with your time.
If your business is small and you might be thinking it's too small for coaching, don't be too concerned because we do have packages designed for smaller businesses right up to larger businesses with like 30 or 40 people.
Even if you're just a startup, we can still help you, we will also be able to steer you in the right direction and let you know whether it is worthwhile and whether there will be a return on investment and there's enough opportunity in your business for us to work together.
The answer is absolutely! So my knowledge from an outsider, I might be able to see things where you can't and uncover ways to get around big issues of staff or team or tax debts and the like, so we possibly can help you out. But that's where a discussion with me will be able to uncover that.
You can actually finish coaching with 30 days notice in writing, so there's no long-term commitment.
